A docuseries on freedom seekers in southern Ontario is coming to Bell Fibe.
Filmmaker Graeme Bachiu, of Cayuga, created the series through his company Windecker Road Films.
The series follows residents of Canfield researching their history, and the history of freedom seekers. Canfield is a hamlet located just outside of Cayuga.
Bachiu originally heard of the story through a connection in Dunnville.
Throughout the documentary, many different perspectives on the stories are heard.
He says it is important to tell this story through film because of the lack of documentation of freedom seekers in the province.
Canfield Roots can be seen on Bell Fibe later this fall. Keep an eye on their socials for an official release date announcement.
